IRL 11

This is a political cartoon drawn by Dr.Seuss, he drew many political cartoons that depicted global issues during his time. This cartoon is showing the alliance of Japan and Germany since Hitler and Japan's leader are shown in the cartoon. This relates to what we're learning now because both Japan and Germany two of the most agressive countries during the beginning of WW2 and they both joined the Anit-Comintern Pact or anti-communist pact with Italy. A man shown below them is a regular civilian, the message is that something should be done about these men who are slowly overtaking Europe due to the inadequate reprucsions of the league of nations and other countries (Britian and France). This shows that later on the war that a rising to fight these agressive countries was at hand and no condemning was at work and the next stop was intalling after all the mess had occured. The limitations of this cartoon is that Dr. Seuss is an American and during the beginning stages of the war Americans were bent on isolation and the actual date isn't on this document so we cant fully know the standting of the US during that time. Also the US was an outside country, not in Europe and not a civilian in Germany or Japan, what was being done there to try and stop these men from taking over land?
